REPLACING A BRIDGE OR DENTURE WITH DENTAL IMPLANTS

Replacing a traditional bridge or denture with an implant supported bridge or denture ensures fixation so that the denture never slips. Implant supported bridges and dentures can be secured by 2 to 4 implants (or) with mini implants.

THE DIAGNOSTIC PHASE

At the first visit, hi-resolution photos, digital x-rays, a 3D CAT scan and a thorough clinical evaluation will take place followed by expert explanation of the case diagnosis and treatment options. During this visit, impressions are taken (to make the replacement teeth), and a clear financial overview will be presented.

THE SURGICAL PHASE

A few days to a few weeks later, the surgery takes place. Under non-IV or IV sedation the extractions, bone grafts (if necessary) and implants are administered. Patients can awaken with removable, or implant secured, “initial” teeth to return home with a beautiful smile. Patients resume a full schedule of activities within 24 to 72 hours. Follow-up visits are 1, 4 and 12 weeks after surgery.

THE RESTORATIVE PHASE

When the implants have fully integrated with your jawbone (4 weeks to 4 months later), the restorative phase takes place. During this visit the “final” teeth are placed.
